Peel Region Chair Nando Iannicca and two federal cabinet ministers, Transport Minister and Mississauga Centre MP Omar Alghabra and Natural Resources Minister Jonathan Wilkinson, were part of the announcement on Wednesday. The total project cost is $1.6 million, with the region, City of Mississauga, Credit Valley Conservation and the Town of Caledon also chipping in toward the project. The federal government’s share is $525,000.
