On a mild Sunday afternoon, California set a historic milestone in the quest for clean energy. The sun was shining, the wind was blowing and on May 8th, the state produced enough renewable electricity to meet 103% of consumer demand. That broke a record set a week earlier of 99.9%.
French oil and gas major TotalEnergies has joined Trident Winds Inc. in the Castle Wind LLC joint venture for the development of a 1 GW offshore wind project off the coast of Morro Bay, off the Central California Coast. The Company entered the JV and acquired the shares previously held by EnBW North America.
Massachusetts-based Ko-Solar wants to put solar panels in places no one really notices, like on industrial building roofs, in parking lots, and sound barriers on highways. It may finally get its chance, in the Boston area. And that will be a US first.
