Windsor will be home to Ontario’s first large-scale electric vehicle battery manufacturing plant, the province announced Wednesday.

German automaker Porsche has announced that it is planning on building its own network of electric vehicle charging stations. The company said that to achieve this ambitious goal, Porsche is investing in premium charging stations together with partners — and additionally in its own charging infrastructure.

If you need any more reason to believe that a large portion of car manufacturers are set on embracing electric vehicles (EVs), the investments they’re pumping into their upcoming models should be a strong indicator.

Late last week Tesla secured approvals to begin EV production at a new plant outside of Berlin,Germany, which will have capacity to make 500,000 vehicles a year once fully operational.
